How I Rocked My Flowery Dress of 2014

Hello Fashionistas,

How is our week rolling?

Over the weekend, Sunday precisely, I was at my friend’s child dedication. I had to stay over at her’s from Saturday night to help out with chores. Yeah! i’m good like that. It was an interesting church outing at The Presbyterian Church, Lekki except that service took longer than usual (usual for me is 1 hour: 30 mins, max is 2 hours). I don’t know who else gets agitated whenever service takes longer than usual (in your own terms though) because for me, I tend to get distracted.

Before heading off to church, I had to take some minutes to document these outfit of mine. I actually designed this pretty flowery dress way back in 2014. I wanted a simple look that I can alternate for a church, corporate or casual outing and the amazing thing about the dress is that, people don’t believe my tailor made it. Like seriously? We’ve got great local designers and tailors, it doesn’t have to be Zara or Tahari. I am not a sucker for brand names as long as I am allowed the creativity to design what I want to wear and at the same time look good in them.

If you are following me on Instagram or Facebook, I am sure you would have seen me admiring my shoes in this picture. The lovely sandals was gifted to me by my lovely friend and fellow blogger, Oyinlola aka Honilols and ever since, the sandals has been a show stopper! Thank you Honi

Ahhhh! the picture below is x-rated. Parental guidance is advised!

Still about the picture above. If there is anything I do not like about this picture, it would be my booming weight. For Peter’s sake why is my arm looking so big (I am too young to have a Christian Mother hand mbok!) So i’ve decided to hit the gym. Not that I want to loose weight ooo. Truth is, I love my new body size. I just want to work on specific areas of my body and keep fit. I am sure my clothes will fit better afterwards and you will love me my styles best.

Do you see the tiny red striped details on the dress? Mehn! my tailor is really good! If you want her contact, check below

I enjoyed reading it. Your tailor……they don’t like that name anymore. They prefer fashion designer, dress maker…….did a good job.

Thanks Ejiro for reading. The art is called tailoring (couture, dressmaking, fashion design, etc) so its ok they call them Tailors

    Hi Nkem,
You look so hot! I love the fit of your dress and print on the fabric. Your tailor did a fabulous job, it doesn’t look “made” at all, the finishing is just as clean as any store-bought garment. That “tiny red striped detail” is called piping.

It’s my first visit to your new WP blog, I love the site design, it’s very aesthetically pleasing. Well done! 🙂
